Red Mountains Abstract

Red Mountains Abstract
The Final Render

This is wallpaper style render I made to use as my wallpaper for various devices. The scene mostly consists if differently shaped planes with textures on them to make the scene detailed and interesting. The mountains are simple curves that I drew using the draw curves tool in blender which were then converted to a mesh and filled in, then textured using a principled BSDF shader with a voronoi texture plugged into a color ramp (With red colors) and then into the principled BSDF. The snowy tips of the mountains were made by using the knife tool to cut the plane on the top to create a new face which was textured white. The clouds are a few meta-balls that were converted to a mesh and then resized on one axis to make them into a plane-like shape, and then textured.

The background is a plane with a gradient texture plugged into a color ramp to get the correct gradient ratio and color. The wavy background planes are just curves that were converted into a mesh and then extruded downwards to get depth. It was then duplicated and moved a bit forward multiple times to get the perception of landscape. There is also a simple, red road in the front of the scene which was made using a curve that was given thickness by extruding it and then tilted about 70 degrees to make it look flat. The lights in this scene are two area lights from a right and left angle, one with a bit more brightness than the other to make the lighting in the scene less flat.
