Space Helmet
This is a space helmet 3D model I made in Blender with heavy inspiration from helmets in Star Citizen. The model was made by blocking out the general shape of a helmet using a cube and then applying a subdivision surface modifier on it to make it round and smooth.
There are also smaller details added to it afterwards like lights and panels. The texturing is very simple, done with the default shaders in blender and then afterwards using the Grungit addon to add small scratches to the whole model.
The overall scene is very simple with a gray plane as the background and floor with fog added to the whole scene using a cube with a volumetric shader on it. The lighting is a 3-point lighting setup with a cool main light, a warm secondary light and a cool backlight.
For this render I turned off denoising and rather turned up the samples to 2048 to create a high quality image but with a bit of noise to make it more photorealistic and natural. The color was also tweaked to make it a bit more vibrant with less exposure and gamma. The human model the helmet is displayed on is downloaded from the internet and is not owned by me, it was mostly used for reference, to make the helmet actually usable, but ended up staying for the final render to add complexity to the image.
